/// The Passion
Mocked by the nation for its infamous politics, listed among the lowest ranks for education and poverty, Louisiana has been an underdog in the worldly arena. Yet in the midst of the darkness, a small spark has been ignited in the church body. People from all backgrounds, denominations, and generations are assembling to fan the flames of revival.
Louisiana Outpouring has been a forerunner in this effort.
/// The Power
In December of 2002, a group of spiritual leaders throughout the state assembled to discuss the same frustration – Louisiana’s desperate need of a touch from God. All had attended conferences and crusades that promised much, but left much to be desired. The key elements were missing. Where was the anointed worship, tarrying in prayer, and powerful prophetic preaching? Where was the fire that fell at Pentecost, the awakening anointing that accompanied John Wesley and that birthed Azuza Street? When would Louisiana’s turn come?
The answer came in what began as a three day event. In January of 2003, under the leadership of Dr. David Remedios, pastors and laity of several churches came together for a statewide revival crusade. Evangelists Tommy Tenney and Sergio Scataglini led us into an outpouring that fueled the hunger for God’s move in Louisiana.
We held our second crusade in January of 2004. Attendance was almost double that of the previous year, and more of God's power manifested. Testimonies poured in from pastors whose churches were tremendously changed by a fresh new anointing. Claudio Freidzon, the pastor of a 15,000 member church in Buenos Aires, Argentina, spoke of mighty things to come in this fresh move of God.
/// The Promise
Since that initial meeting in 2002, we've continued to network with other ministries, hold monthly unity services and make plans to Fan the Flames in regional conferences throughout the state. Our heart is to witness the flooding of God’s Glory over Louisiana. Our mission is to see God’s word in Joel 2:28 come to pass: “I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh…” Our vision is to experience the passion, the power, and the promise.
Last year, at our January crusade, we were joined again with Pastor Claudio Freidzon and worship leader John Ragsdale. While Ragsdale led us boldly into the throne room, Pastor Freidzon challenged us to listen for the growing sound of the move of God. Through anointed worship, prophetic preaching and powerful prayer we found ourselves in an increased spirit of unity. More and more the manifest Spirit of God was experienced.
At our January 2008 Conference we will be joined by Pastor Sergio Scataglini, Biship Joseph Garlington, and Pastor John Kilpatrick, with worship led by Tommy Faulk Jr. See you there!
